Instructions:

For the Cookie Monster muffins, first form the eyes from the marzipan paste and the powdered sugar. To do this, knead together about 75 g of powdered sugar and the entire marzipan paste (about 140 g).

Tip: If you want the two components to mix better, it is advisable to knead the marzipan paste and the powdered sugar on a smooth work surface.

Once the mixture is homogeneous, form 24 balls. Place a chocolate drop in the center of each ball to form a pupil.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C and line the muffin tin with paper baking cups, if available, or provide silicone cups.

For the batter, cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Then add the eggs and stir them in. Now mix the flour and baking powder together and add.

Finally, add the milk and mix everything until a smooth dough is formed. Finally, add the remaining chocolate drops to the dough mixture. Now divide the batter among the 12 muffin cups and bake on the middle rack for about half an hour.

Be sure to let the muffins cool completely!

For the crumb monster’s fur, mix the remaining powdered sugar and some food coloring, mixed with water (the color should be a bit darker than in my photo, but unfortunately I didn’t have any other color, a rather dark blue it should be). Keep mixing until the mixture becomes thick and viscous.

Preparation Tip:

Try the right mixing ratio of food coloring and water first to get the "right" blue!
